ELECTRICAL COUNTER SALESPERSON

Job Description

The electrical counter sales position is responsible for providing assistance to customers during the sales/purchase process, as well as responding to customer inquiries in a timely and professional manner.

Primary Tasks:

  • Assisting customers at the electrical sales counter to fulfill orders placed.

  • Picking items in the warehouse for the counter sale in an accurate and timely manner.

  • Answering phone calls and emails from customers about product inquiries, orders, and more.

  • Restocking the inventory in the counter to ensure products are visible to the customers and creating signage for these displays.

  • Keeping the counter area neat and orderly (sweeping, wiping down surfaces, ensuring the physical counter is clean and organized)

  • Additional duties include order pulling/checking/packing in the warehouse to prepare for shipment or will call pick-up.

Requirements

  • No prior knowledge or experience required!

  • The ability to multi-task and make decisions in a fast-paced environment

  • Strong attention to detail

  • Self-Motivated to manage time and complete work quickly in time sensitive situations

  • Team Oriented – likes working with people (both customer and Denney Team)

  • Persistent – Able to overcome occasional loss or setbacks

  • Good communication skills - written, verbal and listening

  • Independent productive- Able to work without close supervision and knows when to get additional support.

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office applications

  • Good Math skills

Training

Our training and onboarding program includes a rotation through various departments and working on our sales counter. On the sales counter you will be paired up with various associates to learn about our customers and the material that we sell. In addition to on-the-job training, training includes computer modules and one on one training on the basics of electrical distribution, sales, customer service, our software operating system, and our processes and procedures of operations.

 

You will also be trained and certified to operate a forklift.

  • 40 hours per week

INSIDE SALES TRAINEE

Job Description

The inside contractor sales position is responsible for processing contractor orders, responding to material pricing requests and bidding projects.

Primary Tasks:

  • Gathering and coordinating product and pricing information

  • Generating customer proposals- Job Quotes and Bids

  • Review building plans and products listed to create materials quotations

  • Managing sales from the initial quote through delivery to ensure accurate order entry, pricing, and delivery are achieved

  • Visits to customers and job sites

  • Developing and managing account plan for assigned accounts

  • New customer inquiry

  • Additional duties include answering the phone, providing back up sales support to the electrical sales counter, and order pulling/checking products in the warehouse
